Does anyone know of a cycle computer that can work when the bike is mounted on a Turbo? I have been unseccessful so far in tracking such an item. Surely there must be something out there. The alternative (a turbo with computer) is beyond my means, and besides, I'd like the computer to work on the road when winter is over.

I to have the same problem.

Although I have a Taxc I still prefer to use my road computer but have not beeen able to get it to work by moving the sensors to the back wheel. I have a Polar CS600 and it losses the signal when the computer is at aboput the end of the top tube - just a bout 6cm from the mount!

Anyone else any ideas?

Malcolm

I think the only computer that has a rear wheel sensor is the cateye astrale. It's an old model with a cable but it should do the job.

Thanks Andy and Masher,

I've done a little more research on the net and it seems that others have discovered that some wired computers have enough cable to stretch the magnet to the rear wheel; Cateye and Sigma being an example. I'll get my hands on a Sigma and see. My local shop deals with Sigmas and I'm sure they won't mind me checking it out before purchase. It's just a shame I won't be able to get the cable to follow the internal routing of my TT frame so it will look a little untidy. If anyone out there has discovered a wireless option, please let me know.

I've found the Cateye Astrale to be just right and reliable over several years. It has plenty of cable for the sensor to be rear wheel mounted and also has a cadence monitor which I have found very useful to work with for sessions increasing pedalling speed.
Wiggle's online store are a good supplier of a wide range of cycle computers.

Cheers and Happy Pedalling.

Lucy

Thanks lucy. Because I already have a Sigma, I have just ordered a rear wheel sensor kit so that I can continue using it on the Turbo. But it looks like the cateye may be a cheaper/better choice for those looking to purchase a computer unit outright, as you won't need to order a seperate fitting kit for the rear wheel?

As far as I've been able to assertain, you cannot get a wireless computer with a rear wheel sensor kit. Yet.
